Application of Plastic - Coated Steel Pipes in Indoor Pipeline Systems

Plastic-coated steel pipes are composite pipes made by fusion-coating the interior of a steel pipe with a layer of epoxy (EP) or polyethylene (PE) powder. The smooth interior wall reduces hydraulic resistance and minimizes scaling, making them particularly suitable for indoor water supply, fire sprinkler systems, and gas distribution in buildings. Advantages include corrosion resistance, non-contamination, and a long service life. During installation, using matched grooved (coupling) or flanged connections is recommended. If on-site welding is necessary, the damaged coating in the heat-affected zone must be repaired; otherwise, it can become a source of corrosion.
